After carefully researching the options available to help local veterans, I noticed the information is available however it is scattered all over the place and accessible via the Internet, local offices and groups, state offices, etc. This makes it hard for local veterans to easily obtain the information they need. The majority of the time when a troubled person is looking for help, difficulties of finding the assistance they need may discourage them from looking any further.
When the peace treaty is signed, the war isn’t over for the veterans or the family. It’s just starting. ~ Karl Marlantes
A website listing community and local resources will help local veterans find resources without searching in multiple locations. My goal is to develop innovative ways to seek out and inform local veterans about benefits and services that are available from federal, state, and local organizations, as well as solicit feedback from veterans regarding their requests and needs for additional services.
To accomplish this mission I plan to works with local, state, and federal agencies and non-profit organizations to coordinate efforts to locate and inform local veterans as well as to expand benefits and services available to other nearby veterans.
